After reading these reviews, I went to watch the film with my family. We were all shocked that Maan Saab could make such a poorly made film...
He still has that magic prescence but even he can't save this film....
Gulshan Grover's wooden acting was as a lawyer was poor...
Bhumika Chawla and Om Puri tried their best to save this film but even they couldn't save this turkey!
I wanted to walk out before the end of the film, but out of respect for Maan Saab I stayed until the bitter end...
The Punjabi speaking Kenyan was a one trick pony. OK he can speak the lingo but can he act? NO!
I have seen all of Gurdasji's films but this ranks as his worst film to date - even worse than Zindagi Khoobsurat Hai...
I take no joy in slating this film but please save your money and watch something else instead...

After watching the other movies during the last month, I did not expect much from this punjabi movie, but, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a well made and entertaining movie with something you could relate to, especially all those living out of India. All actors were good, Om Puri is excellent, but, Gurdas Mann in future should be very careful in choosing roles, which suite h is age and personality. Always used to wonder why they can't come up with a movie in punjabi with the mainstream actors from hindi cinema. I think Yaariyan is a very good begining. As stated by the director on their web site, it would have been truly wonderful to have Amrish puri too in the movie. I would rate the script and the dialouges as first rate, in fact it's really difficult to pin point any major flaws in the movie, whatever little there are , are totally excusable for the the immense entertainment value. |

Yaariyan is for sure a cut above most of the so called comedies in hindi. I really wish with little change in the cast, the movie should have been made in hindi. So many people around the world are going to be deprived of a good family entertainer. |

The only real entertainer in the last four weeks. Was looking forward to jodha akbar, but it disappointed so much, especially in the second half. am thinking of watching Yaariyan again this weekend. It is for sure the best punjabi movie after Chan Pardesi. Om Puri was excellent in that movie too. Gurdas Mann in future should play his age. No doubt he is an excellent entertainer but his age of playing romantic roles is gone. Was a treat to watch all these actors together in a punjabi movie. Music is excellent too. Wish the makers bring Dharmender and Vinod Khanna too in their next movie. |

This is one movie you may never get bored watching, again and again. I hope we get to see, more actors from mainstream hindi cinema. Even actors like Harjinder Thind, Asrani and Farida Jalal have left their mark in one scene that they got to perform. Om Puri is simply superb in the movie. The script and direction is of high standard. I wish they had shot the movie in Calgary, like other Punjabi movies. Technically, I would rate this as the best punjabi movie till now. Jodha Akbar is very big movie, but, I enjoyed Yaariyan more, as I could relate to Yaariyan in so many ways. |

Om Puri's comeback in a punjabi movie after chan pardesi is mind blowing. Gurdas Mann in future should be very careful in choosing characters, which suit his age and persona. Bhumika looks very cute. The actor playing Dosanjh ( Golu Kaka ) was hillarious. Nice watching Gulshan Grover, Asrani and Farida Jalal in a punjabi movie. I hope more big actors are seen in punjabi movies. |

five weeks back i could not have imagined that i would get to see such an entertainer in punjabi. though we had been watching its trailers on tv and cinema halls, but my expectation of yaariyan was not much. i thought that only the music would be good, but ,man! what a surprise to see such a wonderful movie in punjabi. everyone in the movie rocked. it's a very well made movie in all respect. gurdas mann though looks little old for bhumika chawla but still has given a memorable performance, bhumika is very good too. dosanjh is hillarious. surprise packet is gulshan grover, asrani and bebe. and last but not the least, om puri is simply extra ordinary. looking forward to the dvd of the movie. hope to see more movies like yaariyan. |

I would give the credit for the success of Yaariyan to the writer and the director of the movie. No doubt the makers picked up very good actors for the movie, but any good actor is not worth anything until or unless ha has the perfect lines to act on. Yaariyan is the best written punjabi movie till now. Music was very good too. Living in Montreal, I am envious of Vancouver. I have never been to Vancouver but they have shown Vancouver like no other movie has shown. I am a huge Gurdas Maan fan and I think in Yaariyan he gave a wonderful performance, but I think he should in future do roles that suit his stature and personality. I wish the makers of Yaariyan keep up the good work, because usually after giving one hit it's difficult to maintain the same quality. |

No doubt Yaariyan is a super hit movie, but everyone talk only about Om puri, why no one is mentioning Dosanjh and Dumba, who have given such a fantastic performance. I was really surprised to see an African guy speak punjabi. I simply loved the scene where they all go to Punjab.....Golu kaka looked so cute. I wish I had seen it in the movie hall. After Manmohan singh now another Jatt , I mean the director Deepak Grewal, has come to the rescue of punjabi movies. Yaariyan is more like a hindi movie in style and presentation. |

I feel that after Chan Pardesi, Yaariyan will be remembered as a mile stone in punjabi movie industry. Content wise it is even better than most of the so called hit films in hindi and technically it may be awarded as the best punjabi film till now. There was hardly a moment in those three hours where I felt bored, a total entertainer with awesome performances by everyone. Gurdas Maan saab should be very careful in selecting his roles in the future and Gulshan Grover still needs to polish his punjabi. Bhumika Chawla spoke better punjabi than him. I wish Farida jalal had a bigger role. Asrani was hillarious and Dosanjh was very funny. Dumba was a surprise. Lyrics were very meaningful. |

W e punjabis should be proud of having such a fantastic actor in bollywood. He is simply great in Yaariyan. The most well made movie in punjabi. They could have easily made this in hindi with om puri speaking his lines in punjabi. Fantastically written & superbly acted. |

After having watched stupid and meaningless stuff like Krazzy4, 123 and others, watched Yaariyan on DVD and man, was I surprised. It turned out to be way better than most of the other headless movies being churned out by Bollywood. A full 2hr and 40 mins of sensible, rib tickelling entertainment. |
