An alien entering the United States to marry a U.S. citizen fiance or fiancee is classified as a non-immigrant. The marriage must take place within ninety days of entry or the alien must leave the country. The category is divided into two parts, K-1 for the alien fiance or fiancee and K-2 for any minor children of the alien who will enter the country with the alien.
